The next-generation electronic system will be flexible, light, and bendable. Lithium thin film battery are widely used as power source in fully flexible electronic system such as sensing electrode, microelectromechanical systems(MEMS), smart cards, and energy storage systems.

Transparent electronics have attracted significant attention. However, to our knowledge, there have been few batteries with high transparency. A key factor for a transparent Lithium Ion Battery (LIB) is the cathode material.

Recently 3-dimensional (3D) electrode for all-solid-state lithium thin film batteries has predominantly drawn attention as a new direction for electrodes because of its high capacity, and short charge period.
Here we fabricate 3-D structured silicon template using solution etching process, and Li[NMC]O2 cathode thin films are deposited by radio frequency magnetron sputtering.

Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor

Major research

The dielectric films of perovskite oxides play the most important role in passive element such as gate insulators and capacitors, and the demands of high performance and miniaturized element is on the increase. The perovskite oxides Ba1-xSrxTiO3 is successfully commercialized as dielectric materials for capacitors, but their dielectric properties are immensely decreased as reducing thickness. This decline is particularly known for damage caused by the effect of thermal strain during post-annealing process, so this process will need to be modified to more closely match the latest requirement. Therefore, synthesizing high-k material undisturbed for thickness is key point to solve the problems. In our group, we have researched the various type of dielectric nanosheet films using Langmuir-Blodgett deposition method in room temperature. These nanosheet films exhibit the great dielectric properties without thickness effect and low loss value even the thickness of film is below 20 nm.

A Langmuir-Blodgett film can be defined as one or more monolayers of material deposited from a liquid surface onto a solid substrate by dipping the substrate through a floating monolayer at a constant molecular density. The films obtained can be highly organized ranging from ultrathin monolayer to multilayer structures built up of hundreds of monolayers. Repeated deposition can be achieved to obtain well organized multilayers on the solid substrate.
